“In place of a referendum, the Liberal government proposes the broadest possible consultations. Well, maybe not the broadest, strictly speaking. The broadest consultation would be a referendum. So these would be the second-broadest possible consultations, at best, the Liberals are planning. Sorry, but that isn’t good enough for our democracy.
